The University of Illinois at Chicago Student Recreation Facility is a uniquely positioned fitness center. Their affiliation with UIC Campus Recreation and the larger university provides them with an opportunity to educate as well as enhance and promote healthy lifestyles for students and community members.
Using design research methodologies including observation, shadowing, stakeholder interviews and data analysis, our group prototyped and proposed a series of implementations which supported the SRF’s mission of service while elevating the average gym-going experience.
